GAS aims to broaden reach, launches Community Engagement project

Grampian Autistic Society remains steadfast in our commitment and efforts to reach and support everyone interested in and/or affected by Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). For the next six months, we will be involved in a project focused on driving community engagement for the society and for this very purpose, we would like to extend our warmest welcome and best wishes to Isabel Simon. As Engagement Consultant, Isabel will be responsible for supporting our community engagement initiatives. She will be partnering with our stakeholders and the wider community in raising awareness for our services and their benefits to the people we support. To our members and supporters, please expect to receive updates from Isabel in the coming weeks.

Based on the national prevalence rate, it is estimated that there may be up to 5,000 autistic people in the Grampian region. We hope that through Isabel’s appointment and interim role, the society will see an increase in engagement and establish a more collaborative and consultative approach to encouraging community participation.

Isabel will also assist in our marketing and communication activities and is keen to help us expand our online presence through launching our LinkedIn page. Having this platform will help professionals and organisations with an interest in ASCs to find us quicker and be informed of our projects and services.

We would like to thank Aberdeen Appointments Agency for their assistance in filling this role.
